Welcome to the web site for the City of Oxford Society of Model Engineers (COSME), a non-profit making organisation. We are based in Oxfordshire in the UK. We meet regularly throughout the year. Our members have a wide range of interests and experience in many aspects of model engineering. A major activity is operating the Cutteslowe Park Miniature Railway (CPMR) within a public park in the City of Oxford. This railway has been built and developed by the voluntary efforts of members of COSME.
Location
The Cutteslowe Park Miniature Railway is situated in the public Cutteslowe Park in the north of the City of Oxford just off the A40 Ring Road:
The Railway
There are two tracks on our railway on which we run passenger carrying trains pulled by steam, diesel, petrol and electric locomotives. The raised level track is built to cater for 3½” and 5″ gauges and the ground level track is for 7¼” gauge. We also have a ‘Garden Railway’ on which 32mm and 45mm gauge trains run.
