- Thanks

And with that, our 2025 main season has come to an end, unfortunately we were not blessed with good weather on our last day and had to close early but we would like to thank those who came and braved the weather regardless!
Some of you may have seen we had a stand at this year’s Midlands Model Engineering Exhibition, a somewhat overhauled stand from previous years with a few new additions and a different location. See the photo.
Now begins our Winter Maintenance period, this is when we do the more major work on the railways that we cannot do during the season. This year we have the major project of relaying the raised level track as the rails that were laid in the late 80s have now become life expired. This is the most major project the society has undertaken since the ground level extension was finished in 2019.
As always the railways could not open to the public each year without our members giving up a lot of their time for free to run and maintain them, from those who bring and run their locos, to those who stand and clip tickets all afternoon.
- Last Running Day

The railway will be open to the public on the 19th October for the last of our regular operating days this year until our Christmas running days in December (See our Timetable page for dates) Please do come along!
All of us at the City of Oxford Society of Model Engineers would like to thank everyone for attending our public running days in our club’s 70th year.
We will also be running the railway as part of the Cutteslowe Park Light Trail on 15th November from 3pm till 7pm, take this rare opportunity to ride the railway in the dark!

- 70th Anniversary

This year our society celebrates its 70th anniversary, and we’re holding an event to celebrate!
Come and join us at Cutteslowe Park on Sunday 21st September, where between 1pm and 4.30pm we’ll be running extra trains on all three of our railways, in addition to some added attractions – we’d love to see you there!
- Busy busy!
We have now entered our busy season here at the CPMR when we run on extra days during the summer holidays. See our Timetable page for dates we are open. Please do come along for a ride!

- Summer Steam
Its been hot! The railway site is looking very parched and in need of some rain. This weather does however make for a lovely day out in the Park with the miniature railway being the perfect addendum. So please do come along and have a ride or two (or maybe purchase our discount ticket and get 5 rides on either track!) Our running dates can be found on our timetable page and we will soon be starting our Wednesday running days as well. Hope to see you there!
- Spring has sprung!

Spring has begun to show its face here at the Railway, with a particularly good display of daffodils this year under the pines in our site. We have been busy getting the railway ready for our first public running day of the 2025 season on the 6th April. Please see our timetable page for running dates. Please note also our fares for this year have changed, this has had to be done due to rising costs of operating the railway, paying the bills and maintaining the site but we still believe these are very good value, please see the home page of this site for details. We look forward to getting started with the season and hope to see you all there!
- Happy New Year to all!

We are finished with running until April now to allow for necessary work on the railway and members’ locomotives. We would like to thank all our passengers this last season for coming, without you we would not be able to maintain the railways and pay the bills. Our new Timetable for 2025 is now available, please go to the Timetable page here or see the ones posted up in a few places around the railway itself.
